A reason to keep your Microsoft system patched

I saw something that amazes me today and that I think is funny but at the same time a very serious problem. According to the Internet Storm Center says that the average life span of an unpatched-non updated system is 4 minutes.  Though I have to mention that that time is without a router or firewall on a broadband connection. That is not even enough time to get the system patched up as that can take several hours to fully download and install all of the updates now. Others however state that the computers can last up to 16 hours. To me that is still to close for comfort. So I guess it would always be best to start a computer up on a safe network to patch it and the patches are becoming more important than ever making it important that everyone stays on top of there updates.
